"It started out with this e-mail from Jimbo to WikiEN-L, in which he wrote:

QUOTE: Dream big. Imagine there existed a budget of $100 million to purchase copyrights to be made available under a free license. What would you like to see purchased and released under a free license? ...I was recently asked this question by someone who is potentially in a position to make this happen...

Soon after, it was mentioned on Slashdot, and has since made it into the general purpose IT magazines (PC Mag, Computerworld, etc.). It could conceivably make it into the mainstream media, as early as this week."
